Live Scan Fingerprinting
California DOJ Live Scan
Every price includes travel. No trip charges, no mileage fees, no setup fees. The only separate charge is the government processing fee, which is set by the state.
Government processing fees are set by the State of California. They vary depending on the agency requesting your background check. We collect them at cost with no markup.

We know you cannot take a Wednesday morning off work to get fingerprinted.

Volunteer & nonprofit fingerprinting
Many volunteer background checks carry reduced or waived State fees. Volunteers for qualifying nonprofit youth organizations, foster care mentors, and certain child day care volunteers often pay $0 in State fees.
We will confirm exactly which fees apply to your ORI and applicant type before you commit.

Also known as an FBI rap sheet or Identity History Summary. Stratum is an FBI-approved Channeler, so we submit your request directly to the FBI. Results typically come back the same day, often within a few hours, instead of the weeks a mail-in request can take.

An Identity History Summary obtained this way is generally intended for personal review and the purposes listed above. It is typically not accepted for domestic U.S. employment screening. If your employer needs a background check, they will issue you a Request for Live Scan Service form instead.

DMV Services
Mobile VIN Verification
Stratum holds a DMV Vehicle Verifier license. We come to your vehicle and verify the Vehicle Identification Number wherever it is parked, required for registering an out-of-state vehicle in California, assembled and kit vehicles, and several other situations.

Rejected prints? We come back free
If your fingerprints are rejected for quality reasons and we processed the original submission, we return and re-roll at no charge and cover the resubmission fees.
No cancellation fees
Plans change. Let us know as early as you can, and we will get you rescheduled.
Evenings and Saturdays at no extra charge
Most fingerprinting locations close before you get off work. We do not.
